Soundcloud is an artists first music streaming service that lets people upload or listen to music for completely free. It helps smaller independent artists form collaborations on a global scale, with SoundCloud you can become a prosumer and use other audio editing services to make music you can upload to Soundcloud, allowing ordinary people to form their own artist brand. 

What is a prosumer and what theory does it link to?

Prosumers are ordinary people who form their own brand by using interactive media products

wiki-nomics by Tapscott and Williams within their book they wrote in 2006 during the rise of web 2.0 which introduced interactivity.

How does globalization link to social media?

You can collaborate internatialy, distribute to specific audiences and make monetization through different cultures.  

cultural imperialism is the idea that one culture has the influence to distribute ideology from their part of the world such as with the TV show friends in India.

Cross platform marketing involves managing your advertising on a wide range of platforms from social media to email. 

What theory is wikinomics?

Wikinomics is a term that describes the effects of extensive collaboration and user-participation on the marketplace and corporate world. Don Tapscott and Anthony D. Williams popularised the term in their book, Wikinomics: How Mass Collaboration Changes Everything , published in December 2006.

Why is wikinomics an important concept as part of understanding globalisation?

It allows consumers to create and publish their own content, making money in the process. Then share the content to a global audience.
