-Crowdfunding platforms/ e.g: Kickstarter are allowing creative users to gain funding for projects by donations. This gets rid of third party sponsors like dragons den in which they take a percentage of the profits, these platforms allow normal people without professional links to creative projects that could earn millions.  -Crowdsourcing is when people find personal for projects to collaborate on.  -Crowdfunding is when people gain donations from people to begin work on projects that they would then sell.  For example:

Task 4 LO1 The global village theory (1964)

Marshall McLuhan wrote a book called "understanding media: the extensions of man"(1964) which suggested that one day we would live in a "global village" due to advancements in technology. It stated that we would one day become interconnected on a global scale and talk to each other across the world.  He theorised that it would lead to a "tribal mentality" in which groups would become disconnected and form different views. This is seen today in the " Twitterati" which control popular topics on Twitter. Pros of a Global village -Global communication -Distribution of content from other countries  -Easy access to information -We know about information of other countries faster than ever  Cons of a Global village -Trolls and bullys -Misinformation -Hate groups and divides  -Influence -other countries contain more power over others  -The global village doesn't really exist due to the "Technological divide"
